Just Plain AWFUL!!!:
Horrible Experience... from the phone call to make a reservation to returning the vehicle, from start to finish, from A to Z...JUST PLAIN AWFUL!!!

First it began with talking with "Ms. Congeniality" on the phone to make the reservations, who had the absolute worst set of Customer service and social skills I have witnessed in Las Vegas...and that's saying allot because I have been living here in the "Capitol of Poor Social Skills" for 10 years now. Then she gave me the "laziest" set of directions by simply saying "it's at the corner of Maryland Pky and Desert Inn. When if fact, it's a half block northeast of that corner, inside of a high-rise apartment community, in the rear of the building and once in get into the lobby, the receptionist (of the Apartment complex) will tell you that "they have NO affiliation" with EZ rental Car, so therefore you will need to call them and they will have to let into the building...So indeed, it was far more involved than just "at the corner of Maryland and Desert Inn".

So I made my reservation for 3:30pm. I get there 10 minutes early. I received paper-work I needed to read and sign which takes no more than 5 minutes. She ("Ms. Congeniality") tells me she'll be right back...well I have always thought that "right back" meant 2, 5, or maybe even 10 minutes. Well she comes "HIP-HOPPIN" back into the office 47 minutes later like nothing happened. So I am thinking,...it should all be "up-hill" from here right?...WRONG!!!

After going over the contract (fees, procedures...etc) I paid the full amount for a two day rental including a CASH DEPOSIT (now remember this, because we're are coming back to this later) and then she takes me to the parking area, gives me a set of keys and shows me "my vehicle". Now I fully aware that these "fly-by-night" cash rental places never have the best cars...NO PROBLEM. As long as it runs so I can complete my agenda...again, NO PROBLEM. However, this first car (Toyota Camry) she attempted to put me in was CRIMINAL. Now I use the word criminal, because when I opened the door, immediately, the smell that came from the car was a STRONG SCENT OF MARIJUANA. And when I said "It smells like Marijuana". She then says to me..."I know, that's what took me so long, I was trying to cover up the smell". And I thought to myself, "Are you Kidding me?" What kind of business attempts to rent a car that smells like Illegal Street Drugs to a client? WHO DOES THAT??? And its so obvious that these people have NO earthly understanding of PRODUCTIVE REASONING and EDUCATED LOGIC. And that they only deal with consumers who LACK INTEGRITY!

Example: Let's say I had chosen to accept this vehicle (with the strong smell of marijuana). And let's also say, that I get pulled over by a police officer for a routine traffic violation (failure to use a turn signal...etc). What do you think would happen to the operator of this vehicle when they roll down their window to have a conversation with a police officer? I'll tell you...several things. 1) The officer would assume that there is illegal drug in the car or in the driver's possession. 2) The officer would assume that the operator of the vehicle is under the influence. 3) Therefore the officer would have to assume that the operator of the vehicle is "Driving under the Influence". 4) An Arrest. 5) The vehicle owned by the rental car company would be "impounded" and "they would be responsible for the cost of re-acquiring their vehicle. Now in a matter of seconds, I was able to use "Productive Reasoning and Educated Logic" and that prevented me from accepting this car as a rental. Yet this company decides to spend almost an hour trying to "cover-up" the smell of marijuana instead of using a "working brain" to understand that this car is UN-RENT-ABLE. So they put me in another car (Van Actually) which had it share of mechanical problem, but that's for another review and another time.

Now, two days later, I returned the rental and you would think everything would be all "UP-HILL"...that I would receive the Highest-Level of Professionalism Right...WRONG AGAIN!!! This time it was the Owner of the Establishment.

Here is how it all went down....I returned the vehicle at 2:30pm Thursday Afternoon, with contract and keys in hand. Now after "The Owner" checks the vehicle (mileage, fuel ...etc), all is left to be done is to say "thanks for your business" and return my "CASH DEPOSIT" Right?...WRONG AGAIN!!! What this gentleman did (and I am using the term "gentleman" VERY LOOSELY), He offered me a personal check to told me to go to CitiBank to cash it. Now this is where my "Productive Reasoning and Educated Logic" prevented me from accepting his offer of a "Personal Check". It was painfully obvious that this company only deals with Clients and Customer with a severe lack of integrity, the "owner" (in my opinion) felt way too comfortable and offered way too freely to give a client a personal check. I gave a CASH DEPOSIT...So therefore, I should receive my CASH DEPOSIT BACK...IN CASH!!! And what he attempted to do is basically INCONVENIENCE ME AN MY DAY.

Now let's say I took this personal check on a Thursday Afternoon, a day which 70% of Las Vegans get paid from their employers, so now I would have to stand in some crowded bank line for 45 minutes up an hour and a half due to the LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM of EZ Car rental. So instead, I just simply said..."I'll return tomorrow to receive my CASH DEPOSIT. Now you would think this would be the end of it Right...WRONG AGAIN!!! This man raised his voice at me, then slammed his hands violently on the table as if THIS WAS SOMEHOW, SOMEWAY...MY FAULT!!!!

From reservation to returning the vehicle...From Start to Finish...from A to Z, THIS WAS AN AWFUL, JUST PLAIN HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

So in the end, If you ever find yourself in the same situation (Major Car rentals Companies NO Longer accept Debt cards) and you need to "scramble" to find a rental car facility that accepts debit cards or cash rentals..PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE FROM EZ RENTAL CAR. What a Joke of a Business and Joke of employees.
