Tips
Though it requires a trip to Sixth Street to get there, this small, intimate Alamo Drafthouse is one of my favorites. Its 1929-era building has had several other lives before, including one as a punk rock club -- but I love the fact that it was the first structure in Austin specifically designed for the "talkies," i.e., films with sound.
