he Animal Hospital of Whitfield County was created in 1978-79 by Dr. William H. “Sonny” Mathis and is a mainstay of the Dalton/Whitfield County community today. In 1985, still in its growing stages, the Animal Hospital, suffered a great tragedy. Fire was set to the building by persons attempting to rob local pharmacies.
