Lots of everything that is monetary, and the knowledge behind it:
I visited other area coin and pawn shops and found it frustrating that the usual MO of the types doing coin business often left me facing a wall of smug aversion from questions about anything other than gold/silver and/or American coins. It is reassuring to know that there are still people out there that actually care to learn about their stock and find interest in knowing about why it is that some things have "value," instead of just pandering to infantile tastes for shiny baubles. This is where you'll find that odd Civil War token or exotic medieval Indian coin, while having a talk with the shop attendant about Roman warfare or the intricacies of American foreign policy during the Jacksonian period. Bring your kids, too. There are abundant and well-stocked grab boxes of American and world coins, and even bargain bulk medieval and ancient coins if you feel a little daring.

Great selection, fair buyer:
After attempts by many of the local pawn brokers buying gold and silver to obviously dupe me into selling my silver at less than 50% of spot price, I found that Ann Arbor Stamp and Coin actually pays the maximum on bullion, a sure sign that others also have found that AASC is their first choice. Needless to say, I sold, and I'm sold! I come back often to browse through their extensive stock of world, ancient, and medieval coins, and have been happy with all of my purchases. Their grading standards are the best, and I get a history lesson whenever I'm here.
