The East Village's, Back Forty claims to be the pioneer of the locavore mindset. While it could be argued that hunter gatherers may have beat them to the punch, you'll dimiss the argument entirely upon entering their homey sister restaurant, Back Forty West. Enjoy seasonal offerings like Spring's grilled herb marinated lamb or sirloin with ramp butter. Or try the fried soft shell crab or springtime asparagus with heritage bacon. Of course, the classics from Back Forty, including their juicy burger, make an appearance, and the dessert menu remains inspired.
