I worked at the BBB for a brief period and left of my own accord. This is probably the most backward, sad excuse for a business organization that I've ever seen. The reason is their manager, Warren King a man who believes that punitive fear tactics and bullying are the same thing as leadership. They, contrary to what they tell prospective members on the phone, will accept anyone without a rating and even one that has had multiple complaints if they are considered "resolved". Don't be fooled, paying 500-1000+ to be a part of the BBB of Western Pennsylvania is no great accomplishment or gold star for your business. This not for profit should be ashamed to mislead their customers, members, and the public by creating a false sense of exclusivity or using scare tactics to railroad business owners into believing that without BBB approval they will be considered a "lesser" part of the business community. Stay away from this scam, they are just parlaying their good name into sales and should hold no sway in either the business or at-large community.
