This new Lower Garden District coffeehouse pours gourmet espresso and drip brew alongside noshes like housemade pastries, breakfast tacos and sandwiches, all at wallet-friendly prices; the eclectic setting (it was formerly a thrift and vintage shop) features artwork by local artists, a small book-borrowing library and diner-style booths for reading and sipping.
There is serious stuff here, mostly of the European variety, and some not so serious. But the warren of rooms, some cunningly arranged according to theme, are giddy fun to browse whether or not you're in the market for a 19th-century French Empire settee or an elaborately embroidered priest's garment.
