This boisterous joint on the ground floor of the Hotel Congress has five bar areas that offer steeply discounted drinks after 10 p.m. Live bands often have crowds of dancers spilling out into the lobby of the hotel.
Just off the lobby of the restored Hotel Congress (now a budget hotel catering to younger travelers), Club Congress is Tucson's main alternative-music venue. There are usually several nights of live music each week, and over the years such bands as Nirvana, Dick Dale, and the Goo Goo Dolls have played here, although more recently, the club has tended to book primarily local and regional acts.
