EXTREMELY RUDE: On Tuesday night July 3rd, myself and 3 of my friends went to Coal Vines after a LONG day of working and were just looking for good food and a place to relax. What we found was anything but. We were led to a table by a host, but after 10 seconds of sitting were rudely told to "get up because I have other people waiting for that table" by what we believed to be a manager. So, we then stood awkwardly behind other people sitting at the bar and had to yell over the noise to even be given menus and order wine. We were not shown to a place to wait or even given more consideration by this man. Finally after yelling again over the noise several times, we also got glasses of water and ordered a pizza. Another 20 minutes of waiting and we asked the bar tender if we would get a table. She consulted with a host and found one, so one of my friends headed to the table to sit down. The same man from before (a manager?) yelled across the restaurant a second time to "stop your friend! you need to wait until we set that table". After processing the rudeness and inconsideration we had been given since being there, we told the bar tender that we wanted to pay our tab (we each had one glass of wine) and we left. The "manager" never returned to ask why we were leaving or to apologize. I have NEVER been treated as rudely as we were at this restaurant, and will NEVER return. I would not recommend this place to anybody who wants to be treated like a human being.

The Scene Floor-to-ceiling wine shelves line this highly urban, crackling-with-energy dining room, with tables set so closely, patrons quickly learn to love thy neighbor. A patio in front offers an alfresco option. Solo diners, cell phones pressed to their ears, camp out at the bar under the eye of congenial bartender Craig Wolf and pay their respects to the portrait of Frank Sinatra on ...
