You might be able to do a better job!:
I recently contracted Emma’s Bakery for Christmas cookies. I was promised that these sugar cookies would be about the size of the palm of your hand and would be simply but artfully decorated and “quite cute”. Although Emma’s Bakery was about half of the price per cookie than other bakeries, the craft was well below that.

The first complaint was about my time. I had asked for the cookies to be ready at a certain time. I even confirmed the pick-up time twice. When we got to the bakery, we waited about 20 minutes while they were boxed up. Apparently, she had just finished them!

The main complaint I have is about the cookies themselves. The cookies were not uniformly rolled and so few cookies were as promised. Most cookies were tiny and very thin. Additionally, the cookies were unattractive. The inexpensive powdered sugar icing was barely there. It was so thin that you could see the cookie underneath. Instead of decorated cookies, we got messy blobs of colored icing. You could tell that no tools were used because some had fingerprints!!

It was awful! My husband and I had to present the cookies the next day so we didn’t have many choices. We ended up going to the grocery store and purchasing ingredients for powdered sugar icing and decorating tools.

The decorations on the cookies consisted of white and red icing. We ended up re-icing and redecorating all the cookies—over 200!

I feel very disappointed in the product that I received. I feel that Emma’s Bakery is not a true bakery. While her items may taste good; our cookies were standard sugar cookies. She does not take the care and pride to make the items look beautiful. I feel scammed and wished that I had paid a little more at another bakery and had received an excellent and beautiful product that I could feel good about giving away. I hated having to redecorate cookies that I paid a lot of money for someone else to expertly craft

We had bought 2 dozen cookies and the Thumbprints, Mexican Wedding Cakes and Pecan Sandies were bland and very salty. I calledthe owner, just to let her know, not wanting a refund or even replacement cookies, just a courtesy call. She informed me she ate them that morning and they were fine and that it was her cookie dough. I told her I was also a baker and I was only letting her know. She even used caller ID to call me back to argue moments later! There are alot of GOOD Bakeries in SA area and that provide Good Customer Service. What happened to "I'm Sorry", "Thank you for letting me know", or the Customer is Always Right? The Customer is her bread and butter. No customer should have to go through this and I think people should be aware of this owner.
