The Excellent is an excellent spot to explore a myriad of plump, juicy Chinese dumplings. Be sure also to try the scallion pancakes, the fried wontons, or the delightful hot-and-sour chicken noodle soup.

We admit it: We've been eating the dumplings here for about 15 years. Although we've honestly never tried anything else on the menu, a nice container of these pan-fried dumplings scarfed down while wandering around Canal Street is a treat anytime.
