AWFUL Customer Service:
My conflict with Forplay Catalog occurred almost 2 years ago, but I am still so angry that I will post here so that potential customers are warned.
I ordered a dress, $130, for my sorority formal in spring of 2007, which is a lot of money to part with for a college kid. The formal was scheduled for the first weekend of May, and I ordered the dress 7 weeks prior.
After 5 weeks of not receiving anything, I began calling. I got no where with the customer service. They kept telling me it had been shipped, however, when I contacted UPS with the tracking number, UPS notified me that only a label had been printed and that the item was NOT, in fact, shipped. I called Forplay back and told them this, and they told me they would put the dress in the mail THAT DAY and that I would have it in time for my formal. Another week passed and still no dress.
I was furious. But I loved the dress so I called every day of the week before my formal. After finally waiting until the Thursday before the weekend of my formal, I requested that they overnight it. They agreed, but then tried to charge me for the overnight service. I said I was not going to pay, that I had waited over 6 weeks for my dress, and it was their responsibility to get me my dress.
The night before my formal, still no dress. I called, and canceled my order. Or so I thought. The woman on the line told me she had canceled the order, however, on or about June 6th, I get an e-mail from UPS saying that UPS has tried to deliver the item. Wonderful. It arrives 12 weeks after I order it, and 5 weeks AFTER the occasion for which I wanted the dress.
By that time, I had graduated and moved out my senior year residence. UPS, to my knowledge, returned the dress to the sender, Forplay.
And then I had to begin the obnoxious process of filing a fraud claim with my credit card company. Thankfully, I had kept phone records (I called Forplay over 40 times about the matter), I had the old e-mails, the various UPS tracking numbers issued to the order, the e-mails fro Forplay, and written notes on my phone conversations with the incompetent (I'm positive they were borderline mentally challenged).
To this day, I still do not know if my account was credited for the amount of the dress and the corresponding finance charges.
i DO NOT recommend this company. They are completely irresponsible. I tried several times, being MORE than civil, when inquiring about my order. But when it was clear that they had no intention of satisfactorily dealing with the issue, I became furious. They will be irresponsible with your money and your order.
