Description

A hipster hive of honey-toned wood and buttery leather banquettes (including two private "cocoon" booths, available by reservation), the bar's a delicious eyeful, with excellent food and top-notch service, to boot.

Despite its high style, it's an a low ego environment, with a genuinely friendly bar, and plates and drinks at moderate prices. Rotating set of eclectic house and guest deejays play...

Tips

You will not find anything that relates to Batman inside this Gotham Tavern. What you will find is a HH menu that goes till 7 then starts back up again at 9pm. Typical bar food like wings, burgers, quesadillas and dips reign over this menu. Unique "jenga" like booths and modern art create coziness in this tavern. Incidentally it's name is derived from the building it is house in, The Gotham Building.

The best value at Gotham Tavern can be found during the hours of four and seven in the evening for the happy hour menu--a long list of chips and dips and shrimps for mere dollars. And the drinks are stiff, sometimes a little too stiff.

The former hipster dining destination Gotham Building Tavern, which closed in April 2006, reopens as a laid-back version of itself.:
In Short
Inside, the environs remain relatively unchanged, combining modern surfaces of cement and gleaming leather with an ultra Northwest wooden aesthetic. Cozy seating areas still give...

Information from the business

Step into one of Portland's most uniquely designed restaurants. Gotham Tavern's open-weave timber wall separates the dining area from the bar, while allowing a peek into the open kitchen. Two beehive shaped pods at the back of the restaurant offer patrons and larger groups a special semi-private dining experience. The dark mirrored walls in the bar with driftwood shelves, hand-blown glass...
