In Short This downtown club's decor features dark woods, colorful walls and the odd bongo strewn about for effect. The menu bursts with Mexican, Cuban and Caribbean flavors, and is available until 11pm. That's when the dance floor picks up with the throbbing salsa, merengue and rumba music that packs in the crowds. Three full bars serve beer and cocktails.

Brought to us by the folks from Elvia's International, Bongo's brings some real Latin sizzle to downtown. The same salsa rhythms that have been drawing diners and dancers to the original Fondren outpost for many years now spice up the historic landmark Esperson Building. Havana Latin Grill and Bar packs an exciting punch downtown with live salsa, rumba and merengue; four bars; and an all-day menu of exotic dishes.
