Dishonest Company:
My experience with Craig, owner of Hear No Evil, started great. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain various options and get me into the right setup. With that said, the customer service turned for the worse when he realized he was not going to be able to fulfill his promises.

I will start by saying I am not a difficult person to please and explained my situation in detail prior to agreeing to anything with this company. I was very upfront regarding the fact that I did not live in the area, 6 hours away actually. I explained how there were very few companies where I live that had the products let alone the knowledge I was looking for. After a good deal of time working with Craig I purchased approximately $10,000 worth of equipment and he agreed his team would come to my home and do a full install. I sent him several pictures of the room where the equipment would be installed, we talked extensively about what the install would be, and I received an invoice which stated everything would be installed using my existing receiver and TV. It also stated that they would provide all high end wiring needed for the install. I had to wait a while for the equipment to come in which I understood and was ok with. He said he was working with the subwoofer company to do a custom piano black finish which took the most time and was a must for me as I wanted it to match the rest of the speakers.

When the 2 install guys showed up they unloaded the packaging. One of them showed me how he had to spray paint the wooded top of the sub black because they didn’t come from the factory this way. SPRAY PAINT!?!?! I told him it was supposed to be a custom piano black. He replied that he had never heard this and this is what he had. This is unacceptable. This should have been explained to me before the installers arrived at my house. Then after the install was complete there were 4 large holes in my ceiling where the surround speakers were installed. They explained that they had to cut extra holes in order to feed the wires. They attempted to put the drywall back and used putty they found in my garage to fix it. It was not a professional job and they left me with a mess. I may have understood if this was explained to me prior to the install or even before they cut the holes but this was not the case! When they were “done” they explained the setup to me for about 10-15 minutes and I could tell they were anxious to leave. Craig told me that they would spend a lot of time working with me to tweak the system so it was perfect before leaving and explain all the functions to me. Again, this was not the case. In addition, they did not have all the cables they needed and thankfully I had a couple of high quality HDMI’s that they had to use.

I reached out to Craig and asked how he wanted to handle the holes in the ceiling and more importantly the fact that my very expensive subwoofer was spray painted. He replied saying that the holes are the home owner’s responsibility. Ok, but it would have been nice to know this going into the deal. He did not reply to me at all regarding the subwoofer. Instead he got hostile with me and stated that the install was not part of the deal and that he was doing me a favor by letting his guys do an almost full day install job that would otherwise cost about $1,200. Again, I have the invoice which clearly states the total cost including complete install and 100% satisfaction guarantee. Nothing was done to correct the issues and he ignored me.

I highly recommend going to one of the many other mid to high end companies in the Denver area. Do yourself a favor and skip Hear No Evil when looking for a quality system. You will save a lot of time and headache! I believe I was lied to about them ever working with the subwoofer company to get a custom finish and then was treated like I did something wrong. If they were upfront about the cost and what I would actually be getting this could have all been avoided. Instead I heard what I believe to be lies followed by a lack of response because they already had my money. A story of over promise and under deliver!!!
