University... not hardly:
Houston International University was a real real institution of higher learning and a great place for what it was, but was closed in 1990. This name knock-off has managed to get quite a few internet listings via a couple donations and some cheap phone book listings but in fact just takes money from hispanic immigrants in exchange for teaching them a few lines of english in an attempt to satisfy their immigration paperwork. They have no accrediation of any kind and are probably breaking state and possibly federal law. The address was an old house in a poor section of Houston then later an old shopping center suite 2 blocks over. Best avoided. BTW - Somewhat of an insult to actual HIU alumni.
