Insult to Injury:
I was referred to Jan's Grooming in Republic, MO by a flyer. I am very particular on my dog and who handles my dog. The groomer I spoke with on the phone seemed very nice. However, one of the first things I noticed when I went into Jan's Grooming was being greeted by a young female child sitting behind the desk in a grooming smock.
After leaving my dog to get a bath and nails done I waited for a call and found that I missed the call and no voicemail was left. A few minutes later I had another call from Jan's Grooming and no message was left. When I tried to call back, the line was busy.
I decided to go to Jan's Grooming as it had been a couple of hours and I assumed my dog was done since I had received two phone calls. To my shock and surprise, the young female child that had greeted me behind the desk in a grooming smock was grooming a dog on a table. I took this picture and have attached it to this review.
I'm very disappointed that Jan's Grooming is allowing a young female child (could be no older than 12 years old as can be seen in the picture) to obviously handle and work on people's animals.
I have since heard from others that this young female child is regularly at Jan's Grooming, handling, and working on the animals that are coming in. One man even informed me that when he was at Jan's Grooming that this child turned her back on a dog on a table and the dog fell off of the table and was hanging by the noose and luckily the groomer saw it and saved the dog.
Needless to say I will not be back to Jan's Grooming. I do not want my dog handled or worked on by a young child when I'm paying to have my dog done by a certified groomer as the flyer had said.
To add insult to injury, my dogs ears were still dirty, and were not cleaned or hair removed from inside the ears as they had informed me that was part of the service I was paying for with my bath and nails.
My best advice is to save your money and steer clear of Jan's Grooming in Republic, MO and take your business elsewhere...as I will be doing...
