Since 1983 the company has been providing Retail - Automobiles, Used Cars Only.

This is not a trustworthy or reputable dealer, in my experience, and not a safe place to sell, trade in or buy a vehicle, in my opinion. Stan pressured my elderly mother into buying a car from him, before anyone else had seen it or run a report. I should add that she trusted him because he's a deacon at her church, and our families go back decades, as a point of reference for how low he's willing to sink.

Stan assured her that it was a one-owner car from a friend of his and had no serious issues, only minor ones. He also stated that he runs Carfax reports on ALL of his vehicles, and this one was clean. After purchase, I had it inspected because of the endless problems we were having, within a week of purchase. It's a 6 year old car. The Carfax turned up 3 owners, accidents, functional damage, electrical issues and the list goes on. Stan's response to me? "Repairs and maintenance are part of car ownership". Seriously? When confronted by my mother, he said "Sorry, too bad but I don't have to give you your money back and there's nothing you can do about it".

Incidentally, a friend recently had a bad experience, when selling a car to Stan. If you're looking to sell OR buy, reputable dealers are everywhere in Monroe and the surrounding areas. If you're looking to avoid sleazy used car salesmen and tactics, in my experience, it might be wise to steer clear of Stan Kachar's lot.

BEWARE! Let me first say that I had a perfectly pleasant buying experience and all of the problems happened later. The dealer said he would take care of all of the Sec of State paperwork for the new car and for my trade in. 2 weeks later I had to call in to remind him he owed payment for my trade in, which was finally made another week later. 1 month later I was pulled over by the police because my plates had not been transferred over. In the officer's words it was not unusual for them to wait over a month and a half to complete the paperwork and I needed to "call them and b**** holy hell." 2 months later I received a call from the bank that financed my purchase to say they have the authority to repossess my new car because they still don't have a title. The dealer has given me and the bank the runaround every time we call saying he doesn't have the title and he's waiting on it to come from Ohio and it's out of his hands. But it doesn't exactly take 2 months for mail to arrive from Ohio. Buyer Beware! If you plan on using this business, make sure you have all of the paperwork on the table before you sign anything! Or better yet, just stay far, far away.
