Appauling. Do not take your pet here!:
DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! They are the reason for my dog passing this past week. My pup was having gastro problems vomiting/diarrhea not eating or drinking, very weak and they did no testing for any sicknesses or diseases. They did some blood work but could not tell me anything after three days of keeping her on an iv with fluids. She seemed as though she was neglected while there because when we would pick her up she was weaker than before. She looked dirty and uncared for because they were overbooked there and still take in as many animals as possible just to make $. When we would bring her home she would get better by the minute and I finally got her to start drinking water. The last night before we dropped her off we saw some improvement finally which made me very hopeful. In the morning she was even better and I dropped her off that next morning at 11 thinking I was going to pick up my pup and she going to be even better than that morning since we were seeing continuous improvement in the last 24 hours. She was there for a blood work follow up and I left her there from 11-5. The doctor said she would call me within the hour with result. Never called. They did nothing for her except hook her up to some iv fluid and charge us $800. Through out the last day I called the doctor multiple times asking for updates but constantly had to wait for a call back even though the doctor told me she would be calling me with updates within the hour. I waited three. I was told the same the next time I called. The receptionist told me there was only one doctor there and she had appointments all day so Im guessing they just put her in a crate and pumped her with some fluids and rarely checked on her. She NEVER mentioned that my dog's health was declining rapidly throughout the day during our two other phone conversations and the doctor failed to call me to inform me that she needed to be rushed to a hospital until she finally called me back at 4:15, 45 mins before they close since it was a Friday to tell me they didnt know what was wrong and she was very very sick and needed to go to the hospital. If I would have known she was so sick I would have came there right away and rushed her to the hospital. They never called me to tell me she was having uncontrollable diarrhea so she was covered in it and they basically threw her at me because they gave up on her/ never even cared or tried since they were so booked with other patients. The right thing to do would have been for them to tell me they were too booked to give her the care she needed and refer me to somewhere else that morning but again, they just want to make money. It was shocking seeing my dog in this state, since prior to dropping her off, she had woken up that morning drank water, walked around the house, and went outside to go to the bathroom all on her own. The dog I picked up was basically a corpse. She could not even hold up her own head, completely unresponsive. She was lightly seizing and twitching and was defecating all over the blanket I had given them to wrap her in as I held my poor baby. They told me to take her to Valley Central but I took her to Quakertown because I had heard so many wonderful things about the clinic. Rushing her there, I had a feeling in my gut that this may be my last day with her and I feared her passing even before we arrive at the hospital. When arriving there, the nurses and doctors were nothing but kind/caring/ and very knowledgable people. The doctor told us what was wrong with our dog within 5 mins of seeing her because of her signs. Unfortunately, he informed us our dog had Parvo, and took a test and within ten mins gave us the results confirming. The doctor said Parvo can be treated. He even seemed overwhelmed in the state she was in, but he said he could start treatment even though she was so sick. I knew that at this point, with some much time passing and her getting progressively worse while being at North Saucon, she was so sick treatment may not save her, but he said that he was willing to try. He did not want to give up on her. If she would have been diagnosed days before when we had her at North Saucon, she would have had a good chance of survival. They know nothing there. A big waste of money. North Saucon Animal Hospital is a joke. I had my dog there for three days prior to taking her to Quakertown. North Saucon are uneducated and neglective. It was too late. I lost my pup/best friend there on the table at Quakertown animal hospital after a grand seizure, right before the doctor was going to start treatment. Quakertown was amazing and the doctor was so comforting and just wonderful, even though I ended up losing my pup. I know if I had taken her there in the first place my dog would be alive. In the future, If i get another dog, I know where I will be taking her, Quakertown Veterinarian Clinic and Hospital. They care about their animals and they are not just in it for the money.
