When to Go:
The zoo hosts a variety of events such as Zoovies, an outdoor movie night; the annual Zoofari fund-raiser; and Boo at the Zoo, a Halloween event featuring costume parades and other creepy zoo crawlers.

There are many splash pads around the zoo:
There are many splash pads around the zoo, which is really great for the little ones on really hot days. The giraffe encounter is a lot better than most places, as the lines are a lot shorter, they are more patient and will even take pictures for you so the whole group can be in them. The have the kids feeding lettuce while the adults get a pellet. After, you can ask questions and they tell you all kinds of interesting information about the giraffes.
