Beware!:
When I called for service I expressly asked Mr. Goettl if he was licensed and Goodman certified to work on my Goodman a/c unit and was told "Yes" (Goodman requires that to not void the warranty). What I wasn't told was that he was sending two unlicensed, non certified techs to my home to work on my a/c. The Main tech was nice enough but the job was not done correctly and the new fan motor ran 24/7. After a second visit it ran correctly. I had to object to the price of the fan motor as the first estimate they gave me for the motor alone was almost $400 it seemed really high to me and after research I found it for less than $200. We agreed on $250 plus installation costs. Later I found out they did not use original Goodman parts on my a/c and could have voided the warranty. It also turns out that they missed the fact that my motor was still under warranty! As it was explained to me by Goodman this is why you are to use Goodman certified techs as they know these units how to PROPERLY repair them and what is under warranty etc. I ended up having to pay to have the job redone by another company that used Goodman parts and wired it correctly the first time. Forget any kind of refund from Goettl though. I only asked for the cost of the motor $250, not even the whole job ($480) that had to be redone. He said he'd give me $100 because that's what he'd paid for the motor ( I guess I was right on about his inflated price for the motor alone of $400!) Not to mention what ever happened to my Goodman motor that they took? If it ended up at Goodman with someone they would have received a free replacement motor for it? Lord knows I didn’t end up with a Goodman motor I ended up with a non certified part hmmmmmm. I have tried to resolve it with him and I am now having to file complaints with the Arizona Registrar of contractors and will probably end up in small claims. To boot Goettl allowed his second tech in training that was along on the job to write us a nasty letter questioning are ethics and being rude because we questioned the price of the motor and the fact that we were upset that we had to have the job redone. To this day we have also never received a receipt for the work they did. After 10-15 calls to get it(even before the dispute started) promises to have it faxed from Mr. Goettl, referrals to the tech to get it, promises to have it dropped off etc. we still have no receipt...thank goodness we paid with a check and have some proof. Let's just say if I could leave a negative star rating I would and I wouldn't send them out to my worst enemy...nobody deserves this.
