I was in the Shimmy Shack last night after being away for several months and not surprisingly, not a single thing has changed with the owners. There was not a table to be had inside because of the weather & one of the owners, with her preverbal glass( or should I say bottle(s)) of wine was sitting at the bar while people(customers) have nowhere to sit. From my occasional visits there in the past, it seems that SHE is a fixture at the bar, if not their best nonpaying customer.

So once I finally get a seat at a table with my friends, we place our food order & it takes 50+ minutes for it to come out. Now we did not order something complicated, unless of course burgers w/fries is considered complicated. The food was good, but a 50 min wait for burgers is a bit extreme.

Rather than sitting at the bar, getting wasted, maybe SHE should be in the kitchen expediting orders so the wait staff could turn tables quicker & make more money. I questioned our waitress on why it took so long & was told that this is just the way it is.

Working in the service industry myself, I do not understand how a restaurant could be run in such a manner and stay open for as long as it has.
Also, why does the owners have to park on the side of the building, in what is essentially the drive way, why not leave the best parking for the customers?? If you think about it, the customers are the people who bought you those vehicles & support both of your drinking problems.
