Place Suck...:
When first arriving at king apartments we felt great about moving in. With its nice beach side lake next to the complex and overall looks, it was a nice feeling to move in. Upon moving in though we discovered problems here and there that struck us to be quite annoying. Their maintenance was very lack and none of the calls we made for anything were answered. We needed a new screen door and track for the back balcony, the closet door in the living room needed fixed because it wouldn't close all the way. I believe the hinge screws were becoming stripped. The base board panels right in the front entrance by the door were coming off the wall. The Laundry facilities were horrible and over charged you for their useless operation. We paid 10.50 to do our laundry because it took several times to dry our clothes. Throughout or stay, we discovered on the weekends, people would come from out of nowhere to play a game of horseshoes, bocci ball, or whatever it is that they played in the field next to our building. This wouldn't have irritated us if it hadn't been for them taking up most if not all of the resident parking spaces in our building sections. Many other neighbors of ours were very irritated as well due to their ignorance for actual residents to the area. Near the end of our stay, a neighbor moved in next to us and two weeks later, we discovered bed bugs coming in. This was NOT what we needed. Because of this unfortunate event occurring, we had to throw out our couch, our mattress which cost close to 400 dollars, and we had to buy a steamer to completely steam the carpets. When we went to the main office about this, we were informed it would be taken care of and that we needed to not worry. Happy about this, we waited for the call from the exterminator service but nothing came through. My wife called the office once more after a day or so and we were informed that WE had to take care of the problem ourselves or be charged 250 dollars. They also tried to insinuate that it was probably our fault that they were coming in. I was not happy, and I was NOT going to be responsible for this. We tried so hard to contain the bed bugs prior to calling the office, but they are very resilient to getting to us. This is why we had to take measures of ridding the couch and mattress. I would not recommend Leasing or renting from this establishment. Another predicament that occurred was our ending lease and the rent. When we reached the end of our lease, which was April 30, half way through april we informed them we were moving out and they responded to us that we didn't need a 30 day notice since we were moving and that we didn't need to pay Mays Rent. Well what do you know? We were informed differently afterwards when int he middle of moving we got an eviction notice from the land lord stating we had to leave the premises. He informed us over the phone that we didn't pay May's rent. What lack of communication these people have! No one tells anyone anything in this complex its ridiculous. Well now that we are moved out, I saw this coming the near future but we recently got a letter demanding money for an assortment of things including rent for May, walls being painted, cleaning (something we didn't want to do for all the disgusted service we never got and much harassment from the land lord), two missing curtain rods which were placed nicely in the bedroom closet, 3 missing stove pans which somehow disappeared. (something we believe they did intentionally for more money), an imaginary burnt out lightbulb that needed replace. and a bent heat convector. An overall amount of 1070.00 which with the security deposit and mailbox key deposit minused from this we were sent a hefty bill of 690.00. Others we know who live there or have lived there explained many other cases just like this that have happened with King Apartments. They are one of many who are crooked, shady, and greedy. I hope anyone who sees this review will keep in mind of the things that may await them at this not so lovely living establishment (if you can call it that).
