Tips

Know Before You Go: You might ask: Why is there underwear hung on the walls? Historically, Stoddard's building was where fashionable ladies shopped for unmentionables. Before it was Stoddard's cutlery store and Stoddard's Fine Foods & Ale, the building's first proprietor was Chandler's corset store.

Fun Fact: The railings on the balcony and bar area were sourced from the nearby (and late) original Filene's Basement when it was gutted.

The worst:
I went to Stoddard's last night with my friend. We were having a great night, we both got a glass of wine and the cheese plate, she gets up to go to the bathroom, things get bused from the table, and all of a sudden her iPhone is missing.

No big deal. We ask the waitstaff for help. Oh wait, nope, they won't help us. Not only that, they asked us to move from the table (where we were sitting with unfinished glasses of wine) so "real" customers could sit. Then the manager yelled at us.

In sum, do not go to Stoddard's if you want to have a pleasant evening and if you wish to keep possession of your electronics.
