The owner of this establishment, quickly responded to my call. He arrived at my home for a consultation. He had good knowledge of HT and quoted me $1,000 for the installation. He tried to upsell me a universal remote for $1,000, with a street price of $100. While typical programing costs of such can range from the $400 to $600 range, my system was very simple with TV,Cable, DVD, Receiver and PS3. I declined stating that I had a Harmony remote that was programmed that I wanted to use I, however on his reccomendation opted for a Canton center channel. When I asked him the next day which model, he said not to worry, it would turn out great. I imagine given the premium he ascribed to the Universal Remote, he did not want me to check price. Further, he tried to sell me HDMI cables for $200 each. I found these for $30 on line with a ver1.3 spec. I told him I would provide. Total system install would run about $1,600 including the center. This was high, but not off by an order of magnitude. As I became increasingly uncomfortable, I decided to move forward on a recommendation of his high quality work. His crew was supposed to show up at 9:00AM Sat. I planned my day around his schedule. I received a call at 10:00 AM stating he was running late and would arrive at 1:00 PM. He arrived at 7:00 PM and said it was too late to do work so would return at 9:00 AM sunday to begin work. No call from him by 10AM Sunday. I left numerous calls with him, no return call. Use this merchant at your own risk. You will be overcharged, if work will be performed at all. I lost a precious weekend with the Kids, I hope this doesn't happen to you.
