We had hard drive failures within the RAID of the servers and brought it in to Tech Fusion. The person I spoke to didnt know what ESXi was (should have been a red flag) and we went through the process. We paid an extra fee for expedited evaluation ($4,500). The evaluation took longer than anticipated and then they eventually said it could be recovered for a particular price (a Very HIGH price I may add at $7,500, in addition to the evaluation). I said I would need to get approval from the owners of the company and then a short while later they emailed to say they were nearly done and needed payment. We never authorized the work, but they went ahead and did it anyway. They then wanted to have a call and when we said we were waiting to see if business insurance will cover the cost they want to be helpful to get the money and suggest lying to the insurance agent to get it covered. They actually asked the agent what they need to say in order to have it be concidered covered. The insurance agent actually called the owner of our business to say let us know what was happening. If you ask me it was pretty unethical.
None the less, they said the data was all recovered and we agreed and sent payment in (and not through insurance) as we could still use the data (most of the data had already been re-constructed from other backup sources).

They were to send us the original hardware back including the servers and original hard drives, and the recovered data on an external drive. The owner, Alfred, said he would overnight the data to us... well he sent it ground and it ended up getting re-routed all over the place before it finally got delivered to us 4 days later.

We get the external drive and nothing is usable on it. All of the files are corrupted and several folders that were on the hard drive were just empty. i had asked several times if they just forgot to copy those folders over and no response, they just avoided the question. I ask about he corrupted files and they tell me well we can fix that, for another $3,500. We have already spent over $10,000 and have NOTHING to show for it, not a single file that is usable. I cant see spending more and more money and I have NOTHING to show for it.

They never sent the original hard drives back and when I question the owner about it I am pretty much told tough luck.
