Tex-burr sod!:
The service this company provided us was fine. We went in on a Saturday morning and they happened to have the amount of sod that we needed. It was delivered that afternoon. I paid $240 for 600sqft of sod delivered. I was ecstatic..then I started laying the sod. First of all, the 1/2 pallet pieces were just that! It fell completely apart when it was touched. The full pallet didnt do that. But the worst of it is that the grass is LOADED with grassburrs. We sodded our yard after leveling it to put in a swing set for our kids. The last thing I want to have to do is pull burrs out of their clothing and out of my carpet. Of course, we cant treat the yard because it is freshly sodded. I started to pull them out at the roots as I laid the sod, but discovered that the weeds had seeded all over. They were on the bottom of the pieces from being stacked together, they were scattered all over the top. If I had not been racing the rains, I would have called them to come get their weeds and give me back my money. Everything that I have read says that a well maintained and healthy yard will not have problems with grassburrs. If that gives me any indication of the quality of sod I got, we are in trouble. I should have gone with OK Sod in Keller for just $20 more! Lesson learned! Dont use this company unless they change who they get their sod from!
