BAD hair restoration surgery:
I would NOT recommend using Waldorf for hair restoration.
I am very unhappy with the results of my hair restoration surgery with Dr. Streu. (This surgery targeted the crown, and a small area receding in front). After going through this surgery, and out appox. 20k. One year later, I am still quite bald.
To be fair, Dr. Streu is not the actual person that performs the surgery. Waldorf sub-contracts to two medical technicians that travel around the country to perform this procedure at various locations.
Nonetheless, Dr. Streu is the doctor overseeing this procedure and she does not have the necessary experience to determine the number of hair grafts, placement, etc. Despite the confidence she displays in the consultations, she will set you up for unrealistic expectations for this procedure. Honestly, I believe she is still learning how to perform this surgery. I suspect it takes time to get good at this procedure but you don't want to be a test subject. You want a doctor that already has this experience.
Perhaps with one or two more procedures I would be less bald but I strongly recommend finding a doctor that will do it right the first time.
Also, half way through the surgery, under sedatives, I was asked to sign a form authorizing more grafts at an additional cost. I'm no lawyer, but I don't think it's legal to have someone sign a form after you have given them sedative medication. Still, at that time, I was happy to sign the form, and pay almost any price to have a good surgery with the necessary grafts.
In hindsight, having now done a lot more research, there are much better doctors in the Portland metro area. It is frustrating to be out so much money, wait a year expecting results, and then never get those results. Do the research! Don't be impatient!
