BEWARE of Viking Pools of the Greater Valley & Gabe Young!!!:
On 8/11/08 I gave Gabe Young of Viking Pools of the Greater Valley a check for $200.00 (towards a $45,000.00 installation of an "Acapulco" pool at my home in Livermore). Now that my check cleared, Gabe refuses to return my phone calls and will not come back out to the site. He also refuses to give out his cell phone number and his office assistants are no help. It's been two weeks and I just filed a complaint with the BBB...I doubt he can complete a pool installation if he cannot even return a phone call. My advice: STAY AWAY FROM VIKING POOLS OF THE GREATER VALLEY AND GABRIEL NOLAN YOUNG! Update as of 9/11/08: It has been one month since we signed the contract and I gave the $200 deposit. Gabe Young of Viking Pools of the Greater Valley has not done ANYTHING to install my pool (no permit was applied for, no pool was ordered, he has never even returned to my home) and has not refunded my $200. I've also filed a complaint against him with the CSLB (Contractors State Licensing Board) for non-performance.

Update as of 9/25/08: I still have not received a refund of my $200 deposit (for absolutely NOTHING done on their part except cashing my check). Haven't had time to file in small claims yet, but I will soon.

Speaking of which, Gabe Young of Viking Pools GV has hired an attorney who sent me a letter demanding $900.00 by 9/23/08 or they will take me to small claims court saying I owe them this additional money because now they are accusing me of canceling the contract.

I'd love the opportunity to obtain justice in a court of law, so I am anxiously awaiting notice of a hearing date since of course, I have not given them the $900 they asked for. We'll see what happens next, I'll either be filing suit or a countersuit!

Update as of 11/7/08: In response to the review posted by Dana Humphrey (a Viking Pools GV employee):

Definition of slander: "Slander is an untruthful oral (spoken) statement about a person that harms the person's reputation or standing in the community."

Well Dana, your accusation of "slanderous postings" is a contradictory phrase. Regardless of your inability to properly use correct terminology (e.g. slander being oral and postings are written), the fact remains that I have stated nothing but the truth and have every bit of documentation to back it up.

Additionally, your statement "Time has proven that the complaintant in this this matter has no grounds for the complaint" is incorrect. I have 4 years to file in small claims court.

I was not aware that the BBB closed the claim...but thank you, I will follow up with them to let them know that you still have not sent my $200.

The CSLB only closed the claim because they said they are not authorized to conduct investigations on a contractor who HAS NOT STARTED ANY WORK...and since Gabe Young of Viking Pools GV did a take-my-deposit-and-run, it is a civil matter and beyond the CSLB's jurisdiction. They investigate workmanship issues and Viking Pools GV did not perform ANY work.

Interesting that you gave your own company a 5-star rating...smirk!

Due to our Professionalism we have not commented on the slanderous postings in regards to our business practices at Viking Pools of the Greater Valley. Although our personal names were being used in a slanderous manner we refrained from comment. Time has proven that this client has NO-GROUNDS for the complaint. Both the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU and the CONTRACTORS STATE LICENSE BOARD closed the claims filed by this client as "INVALID".

We at Viking Pools of the Greater Valley wish this client as we do all of our past, present, and future clients happiness in the future.

NOW WE HAVE GONE TO COURT AND THE JUDGE RULED IN VIKING POOLS OF THE GREATER VALLEY'S FAVOR!

warranty honored , internet POWER!!!BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE!!:
Viking pool honored warranty on my pool after one month of follows ups and posting of review on this website. They came out and took care of the repairs after review was posted.
the SERVICE SERVICE SERVICE posting by Dana humphrey is a bunch of lies. they admitted that my spa issue was a warranty issue because of poor installation NOT A MAINTAINANCE issue. Gab came in to repair only after review was posted.And begged to remove the review from website.do not trust them , I will not recommend them to anybody.
