I can't really rate the food because we weren't allowed in to try it. We went there on a Sunday afternoon about 4:00 or so and both the parking lot and restaurant were almost empty. We asked if we could be seated and were told that they were booked up for the evening. We then asked if we could just go to the bar and were told that it was also booked up for the evening! We could see the bar and there wasn't a single person sitting there and there was just 2 of us. Well we had no choice but to leave. We later thought that maybe we were dressed too casually, though the hostess never mentioned a dress code nor was there one posted. I can't understand any business that is so sure of itself that it can afford to turn people away without giving a clear reason but that is exactly what they did. Needless to say we won't be trying to go back again.

Called on a Friday to get reservations for Saturday night. Choice was 5 pm or after 8:45. So we made a reservation for Sunday evening. What a beautiful building and decor. Food was delicious and service was attentive. An enjoyable experience.

My family has eaten here many times, and the food and service excellence combine to make this restaurant destined to become one of Tidewater's absolutely best, an opinion shared by many friends also. Virtually every menu item is distinguished and hand-selected to be the best available, much of which is from our own region. The wine list not only is excellent but also comes with a restaurant manager who is a well-known
local wine expert who (actually along with several others) takes great care with making sure the customer is informed of frequently interesting backgrounds of the wine selected, and many customers rely on him and his staff to select for them to insure perfect food/wine combinations. This restaurant is a true star in our Suffolk culinary community.
