This folk and acoustic club is a survival from the '60s, and looks every bit the product of its age. In its many years it has nurtured several folk artists who went on to become big names in folk, including Nancy Griffith. That it opens only Fridays and Saturdays only adds to its aura of counterculture. It's located 1 block off Montrose, behind the Montrose Art Supply building.

Information from the business
This theater is one of the oldest folk music venues in operation in the U.S. It originally opened as a whimsical cafe where poetry was read over spaghetti, wine and coffee. The Montrose location is perfect for attracting a somewhat eclectic, artsy crowd. The doors open at 8p for from Thursday to Saturday.
