Ross and Ann Scorziell in Toledo, Ohio founded banner Mattress in 1926. In 1952, they moved the company to San Bernardino, Calif. During the 1960s, it made mattresses for Harris' department store. In the 1980s, Banner introduced adjustable beds into its product line and became an authorized Simmons Beautyrest dealer.
