Bathcrest impressed me!:
User Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

I used to work for Bathcrest of Seattle and did over 2500 projects i get reports all the time that the work is still being enjoyed by those I served for over 9 years ago.... I used to work for another outfit that used the epoxy/or enamels that mechanical bond.. sometimes i could scrape those with my foot... when I went to work for Bathrest my surprise when i put duct tape on the coating pulled it off and the coating stayed on.. that would have been not possible with the other company I worked for.... It is the real deal take this on the word of an old impressed associate.... they spare no expense in doing it using the best method...

Horrible refinishing experience from what is probably an otherwise good company:
We hired Bathcrest of Seattle to refinish our tub. They changed the date several times, and eventually showed up with 10 minutes notice. The job was done so poorly, the house was filled with fumes, there was a layer of dust all over everything (books, baby crib, rug, couch), the bathroom fan was clogged with dust, the tub drain was clogged with dust and caulk, and there was paint on the hallway floor. To top it off, the refinishing job was horrible--very gritty. We spent hours cleaning up after their mess and had to live in our basement for several days because of the fumes. They eventually came to fix the job and the technician who came out the second time was appalled at how horrible the original job was done. The end product looks great and we are pleased, but after all we went through I felt like they should be paying us! I do believe this experience is not at all typical of Bathcrest. I don't fault them for the work of this one bad employee, but I do fault them for not owning up to all of the trouble we went through and damage done to our house.

Bathcrest of Seattle a reputable and professional company:
suddenly had a breakdown and began to utterly disobey our rules. He was not allowed to do any more work and we got rid of him faster than he could count to three. In the case of the customer, we redid everything and cleaned up with our most sincere apologies. They were left with a clean room and tub that looked like new porcelain right off the shelf.

In this struggling economy, Bathcrest of Seattle has enjoyed many refinishing leads from word of mouth testimonies from happy and satisfied customers and we do not take this Bathcrest of Seattle is a bathtub refinishing company that serves the entire greater Seattle/Tacoma and surrounding area. Recently it came to our attention that a blogger on the Yellowbot site had a bad experience with our company and wrote about it. I am here to assure the readers that the experience that this person had was pretty much true. It was our worst nightmare caused by an renegade employee who was immediately fired from his job for not following specific protocol which he had been trained to do. Bathcrest of Seattle goes through very thorough training apprenticeships with each employee to be assured that our customers are highly respected and utmost care in taken in their homes. In this unfortunate case, a person that had gone through the process and was trusted, lightly.

The following is some information about our process: Bathcrest is currently running a sale on in home refinishing, the regularprice is $500, the sale is $375 for the home shows to have the tub done in white on a tub that is in average condition and is a standard size (approximately 66" or less inlength, 32" or less wide and 15" or less deep), built in on three sides. If the tub has ever been refinished before, there would be additional cost of $125 to strip off the old finish. This price is good on a standard built intub. Claw foot tubs and corner style tubs are additional. It takes about four hours for us to do the project at your home and then the glaze mustcure for 48 hours. There is a heavy odor the first night the project is done. They do a beautiful job and the glaze looks just like porcelain. There is actually no new porcelain being used to do refinishing. The processis all done with synthetic materials. There is however, a big difference in the quality of the materials being used in the industry. The process that Bathcrest uses is owned by the Bathcrest Company since they developed and patented the process. It is called Glazecote. Glazecote is classifiedchemically as an enamel and it is the only glaze in the industry that formsa molecular bond to the surface of porcelain. It is done in a series of chemicals whereby the glaze bonds to the porcelain through the sharing of two atomic nuclei. In scientific terms its called a covalent bond which means "becoming part of. " The end result is a glaze that is glassy andwhite and most importantly NOT given to peeling. Adhesion failure, or peeling is a common problem in the refinishing industry among the mechanical bonding formulas. These are epoxies or polyurethane blends which are only capable of forming a "mechanical bond" to the porcelain. They lay on thesurface and rely upon the strength of their surface alone for their adhesionwhich means that if the surface becomes broken through a nick or chip, wateris able to get between the glaze and the porcelain causing the process ofadhesion failure to begin. The Glazecote, however, forms such a strong bondto the porcelain that water is unable to penetrate the layers even if thesurface becomes broken through a nick or chip. This glaze actually meets the same standard set for new steel bathtubs inthe United States and Canada. Bathcrest is the only refinisher that issues asigned agreement as our warranty on the tubs. It is for 5 years, but wegenerally see 10 to 15 years from the lifespan of the finish depending onthe cleaning products used on it.You can usually get an appointment to have the work done within a week ofthe time you call. Great job - professional and polite technician:
I had my tile shower refinished. The refinishing job looks great. The worker was polite and did his job in a business like way. They gave me a written warranty as promised. I would do this again in a minute!

thanks Bathcrest!

We refinish bathtubs and showers in people's homes. We have the only refinishing glaze in the industry that forms a molecular bond to the original tub surface. Our hard enamel glaze meets the same standard set in the US and Canada for new steel tubs. Our finish is the closest thing to new porcelain the industry has to offer. We also refinish tile and fiberglass. Our technicians do a wonderful...
