Sundown Chef Patrick Stark Takes His Dates to Dive Bars:
Patrick Stark is not particularly difficult to spot in a crowd, thanks to the black-and-red mohawk the Sundown at Granada chef currently sports. While he's a fixture at the Lower Greenville restaurant and its next-door sibling the Granada Theater, some may have also spotted Stark on Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen (on which the chef has made not one but two appearances over the past year).
Omar Flores and Jonn Baudoin Both Depart Driftwood:
According to Teresa Gubbins at CultureMap, Flores is leaving to focus on Casa Rubia and will be replaced by Kyle McClelland, who's returning to Dallas from Brooklyn. Meanwhile, SideDish reports that Baudoin is selling his share of the restaurant to Driftwood co-founder Sal Jafar II to focus on Casa Rubia as well as another upcoming Trinity Groves venture called Sugar Skull Cafe.
Crawfish at Chicken Scratch; Omar Flores at Wine Poste:
OAK CLIFF—Chicken Scratch and neighbor The Foundry will host the first annual Salute to King Creole Crawfish Festival on Saturday, April 13 starting at 4:30 p.m. Expect food including a crawfish boil, oysters and gumbo, a cash bar with drinks provided by Stoli and Peticolas, a Zydeco band and even a tattoo artist.
