The "delicious", "stepped-up" comfort food at this American in Old Town shines "with some serious refinement" in a "gorgeous, low-lit renovated space with exposed beams" and a "convivial bar"; solid service and reasonable prices heighten the experience.
If Tavern is synonymous with class this is it's physical location. The food is consistently great, the service superb. The steak frites & fries are always juicy, never over cooked or chewy and a real deal at $8 during happy hour.
Editorial Review:
The pub crowd and diners of fine food rub elbows within the exposed brick walls of this Portland restaurant's historic location.
