Don's Service Center is a full service automotive garage located in Virginia Beach.

I have an old car... even with small maintenance, I always worried I may get ripped off or shops try to upsell me for things that's not necessary for my car- Don's mechanic are very helpful and informative, prices are good, and gives me options to save me money to keep my old car running.

I dropped my mini van off at Don's to get an estimate on some work(intake gasket, tie rods, spark plugs/ wires, and an oil change). He calls me back with some ridiculous price, $1800. I told him, to hold off with the work because the price was more than I expected. I called around and found a shop that would do the work for $1200. I went down the next day to pick up my van, but when I got there he had already started the work. I confronted him and he showed me the service order I had filled out and signed when I dropped the car off, only he had added all of the prices for the work. The total was now just over $2000 with tax and some other fees he added in. I told him I didn't agree to the work and wasn't going to pay. He then informed me I either had to pay by the end of the week or he was going to start adding $20 a day storage fees and in 30 days would file a mechanics lein. BE WARNED!
