Left a lot to be desired.:
Where do I begin?? I used Marcos from Floris events in Athens to plan my wedding. Floris is very good at the design and creative aspects of event coordinating, but lacks quality in the coordinating aspects of the business. I pretty much did 50% of the work.
The biggest issue we had with Floris was the exorbitant prices we were quoted from Floris' vendors. It got to the point that my mother and I didn't want to use or ask for a quote from Floris anymore. We were scared of the prices! 1200 Euros for a three person string quartet for an hour? 50 Euros per wedding favor? 600 Euros to rent an 8x8 wooden parquet dance floor? 600 Euros for a DJ for 4 hours on a Wednesday? 4000 Euros for hair and makeup for 4 people? As we got further along in the planning process, the prices just got more and more ridiculous! A good wedding coordinator refers their clients to good vendors who are also fairly priced. An even better coordinator passes on their vendor savings to you instead of taking the extra cut.
Although we paid Floris 5000 Euros for our wedding, they probably made at least 5000-8000 more from all the up charging they did. We estimated that we paid 50% more by using their vendors than if we had used our own.
The last straw was when we got the quote from the florist. 12,000 Euros for flowers for a 75 person wedding. When my mother found another florist who did the EXACT same arrangements for half the price, we decided we were done with using Floris' "qualified vendors".
When we communicated to Floris our change in florists, Marcos was LIVID! He fumed at my mother over the telephone, and asked her why we even bothered hiring him. Ummm... that's a good question? Why DID we even bother hiring you?? All in all our wedding design turned out extremely gorgeous, but it was a very difficult battle to get there.
So... unless you are a Saudi prince, or a Hilton, don't walk, RUN away from Floris Special Events.
