Today, I ordered carry out from Golden Wheel for the first and last time. I called it in and my girlfriend picked it up. She came back with the wrong order. I went back myself to get the correct order: Large Almond Chicken Dinner, 2 Eggrolls, and a quart of Hot & Sour Soup. Everything I found in my bag when I came home was junk. The Almond chicken was in a sickening brown sauce that had soaked right through the breading on the chicken and was like a sponge wrapped around the small amount of chicken that was there at all. Any respectable Chinese place would keep the chicken and the sauce in a seperate container. The Eggrolls were overdone and dark brown. They were also not hot. The soup was so salty and gross that I threw away the entire quart. I have gotten garbage Chinese food from 5 locations in this area. I can only think of 2 places near here that are good. Peking House in Royal Oak will be the best in the area hands down. The other is a carry out only joint called A Taste of the Orient on Coolidge Road just south of 11 mile in Oak Park. I hate that Golden Wheel for just ripping me off $16.50 for some garbage I cannot even eat. I would not shed a tear if it closed down.
