As a former guitar student of John Griggs I would like to first send my condolences to his family, friends, co workers and students. The world has lost a true master.

John Griggs was a fantastic music teacher. I doubt there was anything about music he did not know. His mastery on the guitar was unsurpassed. I never saw him get upset with a student. He had a way to ease any nervousness a student might have while they were learning.

I can remember sitting in the front waiting room waiting for my lesson time and listening to guitar mucic from the back room. For the longest time I tought it was as a CD. No, it was a student. Mr. Griggs would not stop or correct the student until he had completed the music piece he was playing. After the student was finished, Mr. Griggs would begin to tell the student, bar by bar what he had done wrong or what needed improvement, what a fantastic memory he had !!!

Mr. Griggs will sorely be missed by all that knew and worked with him.
