La Jaiba Shrimp House

So a buddy of mine recently recommended this new restaurant in the market square. It is now my new favorite place to eat. My wife and I were extremely pleased from the start. The food was like nothing that I have ever tried in my entire life. First they bring you chips and salsa, but the salsa is the best I've ever had. With those chips and salsa, they bring you a hot cup of shrimp broth. That shrimp broth just really opens up your appetite. The owner then brought us a sample of a shrimp cocktail that they have called "rafafa" My wife and I were just fascinated. Then for our entrees, my wife ordered what they call "no name" fillet. It was a fish fillet sauteed with an array of seafood and a spicey creamy white wine sauce. My wife didn't even want to share with me. My entree was the Shrimp Molcajete. Just the presentation of it made me fall in love with it. The taste just topped it all off. Then for dessert the owner recommended the flan and the guayava cheesecake. I don't like flan but I definately like cheesecake. Well the guayava cheesecake was just superb and well the owner kept insisting on how he doesn't like flan but he loves the one there so I tried it. It literally melted in my mouth it was incredible. My wife and I were just delighted from beginning to end. I highly recommend La Jaiba for anyone who wants to go out for an unforgetable dinner.

We recently went to the Mercado in San Antonio, and all the usual places were packed. We strolled down the market place a little further and found La Jaiba... We ventured. Boy was I soooo pleased. The food was fantastic, and i had the best margarita i've ever had.... it was great. i will definately be making this my first choice next time. they have a fan for life....
