Being in the South one would think that southern food would be on every corner, that is not the case. With Ms. Marian's restaurant, centrally located in Hampton Roads, satisfied our appetite for southern cooking. The collard greens are second to none, the candied yams and out of this world and the fired chicken is finger licking good.

I love the greens. I sometimes just order a large side of them when they are available. Try the baked whiting, fried catfish, fried chicken, the greatest smoked chicken, the liver and onions are outstanding whenever they put enough gravy on it. The mashed potatoes and potato salad are really bad though. I work for a large company just around the corner and so many people love the food. The prices don't allow us to go there as often as we would like though. Get some smothered turkey wings on the menu and you are all set!
