Review: North End Cafe:
It's pretty clear that Christopher Seckman, chef-owner of North End Café, doesn't subscribe to the “if it ain't broke don't fix it” school of management. Almost from the day the place opened, some seven years ago, he has been fixing, tweaking and adjusting like a fellow congenitally unable to settle for any old status quo.
Traditional food with that seemingly ubiquitous emphasis on local ingredients (with "when possible" escape clause of course) served in two heavily renovated shotgun shacks. Breakfast, especially French toast, gets the buzz over dinner, but make reservations, especially when battling the Sunday after-church crowd or you won't have a prayer of getting seated without a long wait.
