They sell rusty junk:
I asked for a planishing hammer and the clerk gave me three to choose from. Each was covered in what I thought to be the orange wax often used for shipping by reputable dealers.
The next day I discovered that it wasn't shipping wax but rather fresh rust. I just spent $40 on a hammer that needs to be completely sanded down several millimeters and polished back to a mirror shine.
This was not an accident; the clerk was just taking advantage of me because he knew I was a student purchasing my first jewelry kit.
