Called on Tuesday to see if they had a lamp for a Samsung DLP TV. Yes, but during conversation, they indicated my symptoms were likely not just a lamp but likely ballast or maybe worse (color engine). They would test for $60 and let me know, and if repairs were needed my $60 diagnostic fee would be deducted from the total cost. I asked if I bought a lamp and that was not the problem, could it be returned. Answer = no, because they come in a sealed box and they would not feel right selling an opened box to a customer. Right answer! So took the set in Tuesday afternoon (they don’t make house calls which keeps costs down). Despite their being short handed due to flu, got a call the next day as to the problem (ballast and weak light that likely caused the ballast problem). Said fix it. Got a call Thursday morning that set was ready and picked it up noon that day. So 2 days start to finish and genuine Samsung parts. Total cost $370. Could hardly buy the genuine Samsung parts for that.
