Great, trustworthy mechanic:
I've been bringing my family's vehicles to Dan at Putnam Lane Auto for a couple of years now and have found the service and work to be top notch. Any good mechanic can turn a wrench but Dan is great at diagnosing a problem and then giving you options. And that, is the true value of a good mechanic someone you can take your car to when you have no idea and trust that they're going to fix the problem with quality parts and work, and not make up a little something extra to inflate the service bill.

Mechanic Blew Off Appointment of a New Customer:
I scheduled an appointment with this place the day before yesterday. I thought it a little odd that he didn't ask for any of my information, but, thinking that he wanted my business, I trusted that he'd show up to an appointment he scheduled. However, when I showed up on time, no one was even there, nor was the phone answered. I waited for about half an hour and drove off, frantically hunting for another mechanic that could take me on such short notice. When I did talk to him again, he said that he had forgotten and laughed it off, but said to come back and see him again some time. No thank you, I don't usually have time to waste like that, and I prefer to do business with people who are reliable and honest. I'm glad that even in this economy he can afford to do that, however I'd hate to think part of the reason I was treated like that is because I am a woman.
