Had a terrible experience here recently. I’m a manager for an apartment complex in Echo Park. I went in yesterday, and the rain had knocked out their electricity. I waited patiently for the power to come back on, and then started shopping for a few items. The owner came by and acted like my mere presence was an annoyance to him. Then when I asked him a question about a part, he took all my items away and said he could not deal with questions, and rudely threw me out. I was polite and patient during the whole experience, but he treated me like I was a piece of garbage with the way he spoke to me, and his whole disrespectful attitude towards me. I can understand if he was having some problem with the store that I was not aware of and needed me to leave, but the disrespectful way in which he talked to me was entirely unnecessary. I went back today to get a few fuses, and on my way out I nicely took the owner aside and told him “I felt it was a little rude the way you kicked me out yesterday when I wanted to price and eventually buy many items in your store”. I was again polite up to that point. He then told me I was pushy, starting swearing at me, and yelled at me to never come into his store again. It wasn’t just rude, it was bizarre. I think there may be something severely wrong with him psychologically, his reaction was extremely intense and not based on anything I said or did. He just appeared off to me. There was clearly something else going on with this guy. So I left and made my $1,000 purchases at Home Depo, which I prefer not shop at because of their corporate policies, but there prices are a lot cheaper on most items there and I’ve never had a Home Depot employee treat me so disrespectfully. The owner here is clearly not actually interested in customer service. He is rude & arrogant, and feels free to treat people like garbage. I will never return. Additionally, in all of my past experiences in this store the owner and employees follow you around constantly & closely as if your going to steal stuff from them, and treat you like you are annoying them if you ask a question. And they are actually not very knowledgeable about newer building supplies at all. Avoid this store at all costs.
