Dr. Christina Chiang is a irresponsible as a vet.:
I took my puppy boxer only once cause our regular vet was remodeling his place and our puppy needed her next vaccine. Dr.Christina Chiang was the one who saw her and told us a bunch of staff and recommended meds and set of vaccines that Kitana our dog supposed to get again. She stated that she needed them because the time past between them was too long and therefore it was a most. Kitana was three months old, also she gave her the rabies vaccine for 1 year. Today we went to the town to get her licensed due to town regulations. The town told us that her vaccine was not good because it expires in September and to get the license, the vaccine must expire at least in November. We called the Rutherford Animal Hospital and we were told that the doctor did not recommend to get her vaccinated a second time because she was a puppy and her next vaccine would be in September 4th. So we explained this to the town and they ask for an Exemption letter from the Animal Hospital so we went there and they refused to give us one under the excuse that Kitana wasn't sick so she did not qualified fpr an exemption letter. From the start the assistant in the front desk told us that the doctor was too busy. Lets keep in mind that Kitana is now 9 months andnot a year old yet and they are health providers and for their services in the only visit kitana had in this place, my husband and I paid around $300.00. I told her what I knew; we had today till one to bring that letter or wont be able to get her licensed which may cause problems latter due to the fact that she is walked everyday and could get fined so of course she needs that license. She told me " I don't know what to tell you". I told her that whoever wrote the mission statement of the hospital was lying because their actions right at that moment were showing the contrary. She again told me that the doctor was too busy to write a letter. and I said: "Well she has many vet assistant here to write it and her to sign it" then she went: "Sorry, we cannot write any letter". I asked her : 'When I called you or whoever answered the phone told me that the doctor did not recommend another vaccination. and you are telling me you cannot provide me with a letter that says states what she said so I can get my dogs licensed? Then let me speak to her. She told me that IF I WANTED TO SPEAK TO THE DOCTOR I MUST PAID FIRST. what???????? you told me not too long ago that you could set up an appointment after one o'clock which doesnt help me cause the town closes at 1 today to get my dog vaccinated which the doctor doesn't recommend. I am then need to speak to her first anyways. So she stood up and went inside. 5 Minutes later she came back saying that the doctor was too busy and cannot help.
This place has a mission statement that goes like this: OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE OUR PATIENTS WITH THE MOST MODERN, "HIGH QUALITY", COMPASSIONTE VETERINARY CARE, EXCEED OUR CLIENTS EXPECTATIONS AND BLAH BLAH BLAH
Dr. Christina Chiang REFUSED to faced us and answered our questions, our request for a letter that she brought upon herself with her statement and therefore then turned her back on this patient. She really is not prepared to be the vet that this hospital professes to have in their staff. I am not only disappointed but upset that the lack of professionalism and respect tor patients and pet owners who pay high bills out of their services. I can only say that this has been the greatest proof for me and all who in the future could suffer the consequences of these people"s actions.
How is it that a so called professional vet sates that a puppy cannot be vaccinated against rabies twice in a year but its incapable to put it in writing and then offers to get that puppy vaccinated for the town going against her own recommendations. IS THIS THE KIND OF VET ONE WANTS FOR THEIR PETS? IS THIS A PROFESSIONAL SERVICE? DOES THIS EXCEEDS ANYONE EXPECTATIONS??????
CHRISTINA CHIANG DID NOT CARE PUTTING MY PETS HEALTH AT RISK INSTEAD OF PUTTING HER WORDS IN WRITTING TO KEEP HER SAFE AND SHE COULD GET HER TOWN RABIES LICENSE.

NOT for Ferrets:
I had taken my ferret to Rutherford animal hospital and she was horribly- and I mean HORRIBLY misdiagnosed. The doctors are nice and friendly, but between the 3 doctors who had reviewed her case-I cannot believe what a bad mistake was made. Basically, my ferret had a very bad cold-with flu like symptoms. They put her through a lot of testing and had her stay at the hospital; which cost me thousands for a few days. They were nice to me and to her, but from their analysis of the tests, they said she had cancer. They did not explain the results in detail. They said she could possibly survive if given chemotherapy as soon as possible. I decided to do a lot of research for another doctor who deals with exotics and found a PERFECT vet in Bound Brook, NJ-for a second opinion, as CHEMO is a severe treatment. The next day, I took her and the lab results to the other vet, who really took the time to read and THOROUGHLY explain everything in the reports to me. He finally stated, "the test results suggest it MAY be cancer-but after examining her--IT IS DEFINITELY NOT CANCER!!!!" He treated her, giving the proper meds and within a day she was back to normal and healthy. Rutherford wanted to give chemo to my pet, who did not have cancer and probably would have endured some bad side effects -as it does with humans!!!! All that being said, the vet in Bound Brook explained how a lot of larger facilities jump the gun and often juice people for cash-which is what happened to me and my poor ferret who was not treated properly at Rutherford. I feel bad writing this, because the people were nice, but after that experience, I would never go there again-nor would I recommend them. Please note that this is concerning my case with a ferret. They may be fine with dogs, cats, etc. Not related to Rutherford, but I had another bad experience with Ridgewood concerning a bird-just so you know.
