Nice Church!:
I've been attending Tab for quite some time now, and it's true they've had some difficult times in the last 5 to 10 years, but that seems to be all in the past and the good folks have moved forward and things are looking good.

Great pastors, excellent teaching, a variety of worship experiences; but most of all, a heart to serve the underserved in the city. More than a "club," the folks are really trying to live out the Gospel.

Highly recommended.

My experience has been quite different from Indy's. The weekly count of attendees actually shows an increase in attendance, not a decrease.

The pastor, who has only been there four months, was hired under difficult circumstances and has done a remarkable job in such a short time. A church is really about the people anyway -- not the leadership or the music. Perhaps Indy will have a better experience if he looks for the face of Jesus in the people of TAB instead of seeing only the negative.

A Giant Hypocrisy:
I had been a faithful member at Tab for over 5 years. When I first started attending there in 2002-2003, it was a welcoming place... a place where I envisioned getting married and raising a family. However, there is a harsh reality behind their facade. The church, plain and simply, is dying. They have a steadily aging congregation and the weekly contributions barely cover the bills. The new Pastor was built up to be someone who would come to Tab and save us from our impending doom, but alas, I think he will be the one to sink the ship. Ever since John Gable has been at Tab, there has been a huge decline in feeling God at our services. Sundays have become regimented and are all about being timed to the second, instead of nurturing and growing our faith. His preaching is always citing something from a book he has read (and not THE Book) and worship feels like we've been reverted back to 1980. (Think, "Shout to the Lord" and "As the Deer" meets John Denver)

I do not recommend going anywhere near Tab. You have no idea what they do with you mind, money, and your soul.
