When it opened in 2005, the Rooftop Bar ignited the downtown nightlife scene, and although there is a lot more competition now, it's still a hotspot. It’s got potent cocktails, such as a pineapple margarita with tequila, orange liqueur, lime and pineapple juice. A killer view brings a crowd that is young, hip and beautiful. "Hip food for hip folks" sums up these "cool" 24/7 hotel mainstays at The Standard Downtown and in West Hollywood, where the Eclectic menu of dressed-up comfort fare takes a backseat to the "fun" scene; prices are moderate and service is "pleasant" enough, but no surprise, they get "loud" during peak hours.
