Like a lunar eclipse or a four leaf clover, spotting a restaurant with a focus on locally sourced food and expertly crafted cocktails in downtown is an anomaly. White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails is just that, a mirage in the dining desert, offering area worker bees and tourists alike, something different on convention alley. Executive chef Ben Vaughn has crafted a Southern menu of housemade meats, roasted quail, Beaufort stew, caramel fried chicken and more items which will change by the season. The cocktail menu is equally impressive, boasting a mean old fashioned crafted with top notch spirits.
I had one of the best meals here. Truly a current favorite restaurant. The roasted duck will blow you away.
White Oak makes great use of a vacant space with a rustic interior and superb southern fare. Try the lamb burger!
Casual with an urban chic interior. With ginormously high ceilings, not the best place for a quiet dinner BUT if you've heard it all before from your dining companion GO! You must try the BLT deviled eggs, the short ribs and green beans and the most surprisingly favorite of mine: the trout ravioli!
